Coach Mitch Halquist Mitch started playing water polo his sophomore year at Clear Creek High School (League City). Mitch earned Honorable Mention All-State Team recognition his junior year and earned NISCA 5th Team All-American honors his senior year. After high school, Mitch attended the University of Texas (2002-2007) where he received a B.S. in Kinesiology. During his water polo career at Texas, Mitch captained the team to four consecutive CWPA Texas Division Championships from 2003-2006 as well as two top 6 finishes at the CWPA Collegiate Club Championships in 2005 and 2006. Mitch earned CWPA First Team All-Conference honors from 2003-2006 as well as earning the honor of the CWPA Texas Division MVP in 2003. Mitch also tabbed CWPA Honorable Mention All-American honors from 2003-2005 and a Third Team All-American nod in 2006. After his time at UT, Mitch moved to Wellington, New Zealand and played 2 seasons (2008-2009) in the New Zealand Water Polo National League with the Hutt Heat. In addition to NHWP, Mitch is currently substitute teaching and pursuing a job in physical education.
